2019 MolSSI Software Summer School

Applications for the 2019 MolSSI Software Summer School are now open!

The 2019 MolSSI Software Summer School will be held at the Texas Advanced Computing Center (TACC) in Austin, Texas from July 22-31, 2019.

The School will focus on early career graduate students in the computational molecular sciences (bio- and macro-molecular simulation, quantum chemistry, and materials science) whose research requires a firm foundation in software engineering and programming.

Curriculum will cover best practices in software engineering – version control, continuous integration, data management, programming paradigms, etc. – to promote reproducibility and reliability in research as well as aspects of modern high-performance computing architectures and code optimization.

MolSSI will provide food and housing for students on UT Austin’s campus for the duration of the summer school. However, accepted students will be expected to pay a $100 registration fee and provide their own transportation to Austin.

This year’s school is limited to 50 students who will be selected based on the application.
