The Department of Chemistry at Southern Methodist University (SMU) invites applications for two tenure-track Assistant Professor positions open to all areas of chemistry with interests including, but not limited to, the areas of inorganic chemistry and theoretical/computational chemistry, both broadly defined. While an appointment at the rank of tenure-track Assistant Professor is anticipated, extraordinary candidates at all levels will be considered. The start date is expected to be August 1, 2024.
Minimum qualifications:
- Completion of a PhD in Chemistry or field related to experimental or theoretical chemistry Preferred qualifications: Postdoctoral or other post-graduate research experience;
- Track record of outstanding research and peer-reviewed publications;
- Potential to build a successful and innovative research program;
- Effective teaching, mentoring, and outreach/service that includes PhD students, postdocs, and undergraduate students.
